We here at Startup Tales has been busy doing some “starting up” of our own, so we’ve not been posting here so often. Still, the recent economic realities have provoked a fascinating question: Is a bad economy good for startups?
Surprisingly, the answer is often “yes!” Pondering a retail location, we’ve explored various equipment options (a major expense at a time where there’s not a lot of money floating around) and we’re surprised to see just how much equipment and display fixtures are available.
Still, beware of scams and do some homework. You may find great deals on certain supplies,while others will appear to be good buys until you do some comparison shopping. And while other stores are going out of business, remember that your own start-up my see sunnier days once the dust settles are there’s less competition.
